GuestThe mower sat unused through the colder months, and now it cranks differently from what I remember. Fuel is fresh, the controls are in their normal positions, and nothing obvious looks damaged, but I do not want to keep trying random fixes. I’m trying to work out what detail would matter most when contacting Toro: the way it was stored, what it sounds like now, or what happened the last time it ran normally. I’d also mention whether the battery was disconnected during storage.

GuestThe first thing I’d note before calling is how the mower was stored, because that gives useful context without turning the request into a list of guesses; keeping Toro phone number could make it easier to explain the storage period and the change in cranking sound in one clear conversation. I’d also write down the model, fuel type, battery status, and the last time it started normally. On my own equipment, those details make troubleshooting much easier because they describe a pattern instead of one failed start. I’d avoid trying several extra fixes before speaking with support so the original behavior is still easy to describe.

GuestStorage is probably the detail I’d overlook first with a mower that suddenly cranks differently. Model, fuel type, battery status, and the last normal start give a much cleaner picture than trying random fixes. I also like the idea of leaving the original behavior untouched until support has enough information to work from.
