I’ve been comparing different book publishing services, but I’m finding the contracts harder to understand than expected. How can a new author tell which rights they are giving away, and what happens if they later want to move the book elsewhere? Which clauses should writers examine most carefully before agreeing to anything? I’d really value honest advice from authors who discovered problems only after signing their first publishing agreement.
